These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and CashOut. They cover how you use the CashOut mobile app, our website at getcashoutapp.com, and everything we offer through them. Please read them carefully — using CashOut means you accept these Terms.

We've written this in plain English, but it's still a legal contract. We want you focused on your recovery, not buried in fine print, so we kept it clear and direct. If anything here isn't clear, reach us at [email protected] before you rely on the service.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using CashOut, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you don't agree with any part of these Terms, don't use the app or the website.

If you're using CashOut on behalf of someone else — for example, setting it up for a family member — you represent that you have the authority to accept these Terms for them, and that they meet the eligibility requirements below. These Terms apply every time you use the service, including any new features we add over time.

Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old to use CashOut. Gambling-related content is restricted, and recovery is serious work that assumes a baseline of maturity and independence. By using the service, you confirm that you're 17 or older and legally able to enter into this agreement.

If you're under 17, please don't use CashOut. If you're a parent or guardian and believe a minor under 17 has created an account, contact us at [email protected] and we'll address it promptly. We may suspend or remove any account we reasonably believe belongs to someone who doesn't meet the age requirement.

Description of Service

CashOut is a self-help recovery tool built to help you quit gambling and stay clean. It's software — not a clinic, not a treatment program, and not a replacement for professional care.

Depending on your plan, CashOut may include features such as a system-wide Content Blocker covering 150+ gambling sites and apps, Lockdown Mode, the Panic Button with distraction games and front-camera self-reflection, an Urge Tracker, a daily Pledge and Daily Check-In, your Reasons-for-quitting list, a science-backed Learn curriculum, a supportive Community forum, Progress analytics with a Money-Saved ticker and wellbeing radar, collectible milestone gems, and Ace.

Ace is your AI recovery companion — a 24/7 chat designed to support you through urges and hard moments. Ace is software. It is not a licensed therapist, counselor, physician, or any kind of healthcare or clinical professional, and it does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Treat its responses as supportive encouragement, not professional treatment.

We're always improving CashOut. We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may set or adjust limits on certain features. We'll try to give reasonable notice of major changes, but we can't promise any specific feature will always be available.

Not Medical Advice / No Guarantees

This is the most important section, so read it closely. CashOut is a recovery support tool — it is not medical care, and using it does not create any clinician-patient, counselor-client, or professional relationship between you and CashOut.

Nothing in the app or on the website is medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, or financial advice. Content in our Learn curriculum, urge tips, and Ace conversations is general educational and motivational material. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or a substitute for the judgment of a qualified professional. Always seek the advice of a licensed provider for any questions about a medical or mental health condition.

CashOut does not guarantee recovery. Gambling disorder is a serious condition, and outcomes depend on many factors outside our control. We make no promise that you'll quit, stay clean, save money, or avoid relapse. Any figures or timelines we show are illustrative goals, not predictions about you.

If you are in crisis — thinking about harming yourself or others — stop and get help right now. Call or text the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-522-4700 (1-800-GAMBLER) or text 53342, available 24/7. If you're in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency services. CashOut is not an emergency service and cannot respond to crises. According to the National Council on Problem Gambling, 1 in 5 people with a gambling disorder attempt suicide — you are not weak for reaching out, you are strong. Please do.

Accounts & Security

Some features require an account. When you create one, give us accurate information and keep it current. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, so keep your login credentials private and don't share them.

If you think someone has accessed your account without permission, change your password and tell us at [email protected] right away. We may suspend or disable accounts to protect you or the service — for example, if we detect suspicious activity or a violation of these Terms. We aren't liable for losses caused by someone else using your account when you didn't keep it secure.

Subscriptions, Billing & Cancellation

CashOut offers paid subscriptions that unlock premium features. These are auto-renewing subscriptions, billed through the Apple App Store — not directly by us.

  • Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (for example, monthly or yearly) at the then-current price, and your store account is charged, unless you cancel beforehand.
  • Managing and canceling. You manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings on your Apple device. We can't cancel an App Store subscription for you. To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Free trials. If we offer a free trial, it converts to a paid subscription automatically when it ends unless you cancel first. Any unused portion of a trial is forfeited when you start a paid subscription.
  • Refunds. Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store, so refunds are governed by Apple's policies, not by CashOut. Request refunds directly through Apple.
  • Price changes. We may change subscription prices. If we do, changes apply to future billing periods, and the store will notify you as required before any new price takes effect.

Acceptable Use & Community Rules

The Community is a place for people fighting the same fight. Recovery only works when it's safe and honest. By posting or interacting, you agree to keep it that way. You will not:

  • Harass, threaten, bully, or demean another person.
  • Post explicit, violent, hateful, or deliberately triggering content — including anything that promotes, glamorizes, or advertises gambling.
  • Share another person's private information, or your own in a way that puts you at risk.
  • Spam, advertise, solicit, scam, or promote products or services without permission.
  • Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization.
  • Post false, misleading, or harmful "advice," or anything illegal.
  • Try to break, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the service.

Be respectful, protect privacy, and look out for each other. If you see someone in danger or content that breaks these rules, report it in the app or email [email protected]. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that violate these rules — but reporting harm doesn't replace calling emergency services when someone's life is at risk.

User Content

"User Content" means anything you create or share through CashOut — posts, comments, check-ins, journal entries, your Reasons list, messages, and the like. You own your User Content. We don't claim ownership of it.

To run the service, you grant CashOut a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, and transmit your User Content — but only as needed to operate, maintain, and improve the app and to provide it back to you and, where you choose to share, to the Community. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content others have already saved or shared and for backup copies that take time to clear.

You're responsible for your User Content and confirm you have the right to share it. We may review, moderate, remove, or restrict any content that we believe violates these Terms or could harm you or others — but we're not obligated to monitor everything, and we're not responsible for content other users post.

Intellectual Property

CashOut and everything in it that isn't your User Content — the software, design, text, graphics, the milestone gems, Ace, the Learn curriculum, our logos, and the "CashOut" name — belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own recovery, subject to these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the service except as the law expressly allows. All rights we don't explicitly grant are reserved.

Third-Party Services

CashOut works with third parties — the Apple App Store for distribution and billing, infrastructure and analytics providers, and the National Problem Gambling Helpline and similar resources we link to. We also rely on third-party technology to power the Content Blocker and Ace.

Those services have their own terms and privacy practices, and we don't control them. When you follow a link out of CashOut or use a third-party feature, you do so under that provider's terms. We're not responsible for third-party services, and including a link isn't an endorsement.

Disclaimers

CashOut is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from how the service is used.

We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or available at any particular time, that defects will be fixed, or that the app is free of harmful components. The Content Blocker covers a large and growing list of gambling sites and apps, but no blocker is perfect — new sites appear constantly, and determined users can find workarounds. You're ultimately responsible for your own choices. Treat CashOut as a powerful tool in your corner, not a guarantee.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CashOut and its owners, employees, and partners won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, gambling losses, or emotional distress — arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the service, even if we've been told such damages were possible.

To the extent any liability can't be excluded, our total liability for all claims related to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or fifty U.S. dollars ($50). Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CashOut and its owners, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising out of your User Content, your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another person.

Termination

You can stop using CashOut at any time by deleting your account in the app or uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access — with or without notice — if you violate these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the service.

When access ends, your right to use the service stops, and we may delete your account and User Content in line with our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive — including User Content licenses for already-shared content, Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law — continue after termination.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that isn't resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to that jurisdiction — unless your local law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Before filing anything, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to work it out. Most issues can be solved with a quick conversation.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms as CashOut evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Changes take effect when posted.

If you keep using CashOut after an update, you accept the revised Terms. If you don't agree with a change, stop using the service and delete your account. We encourage you to check back here from time to time.
